What is Choline Chloride?

Before we get to know Choline Chloride, let’s first take a brief look at Choline (Chloride).

Choline is often classified as a B-complex vitamin (vitamin B4). Although it is not officially classified as a vitamin, it is also an essential nutrient.

Choline itself is a neurotransmitter, which means it helps animals maintain healthy nervous system function. It is a precursor to chemicals used by the nervous system for a variety of functions, such as dopamine and acetylcholine.

It can be ingested through natural foods or synthesized by the body. Unlike other B vitamins that are synthesized by intestinal bacteria, choline is synthesized in the liver.

Cats and dogs cannot synthesize enough choline by themselves, so they need to get enough choline through their diet.

Choline chloride is a water-soluble salt that is a quaternary ammonium salt containing choline cations and chloride anions.

It is an organic compound produced on a large scale around the world and is mainly used in animal feed, such as feed for poultry such as chickens and turkeys, to help accelerate the growth of poultry.

Efficacy and function

Promote fat metabolism: Participate in the fat metabolism process, help pets digest, absorb and utilize fat normally, and help maintain healthy lipid metabolism.

Protect nerve function: It is a precursor of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, which can provide choline required for the synthesis of acetylcholine, and plays an important role in maintaining normal nerve conduction and brain function.

Maintain liver health: Participate in the lipid metabolism and detoxification process of the liver, and help protect and maintain the healthy function of the liver.

Regulate immunity: The right amount of choline chloride can have a positive effect on the pet's immune system, improve resistance and immune function.
